You may choose to stay in Cabin 1, Cabin 2, or Cabin 4 at Trailside Ranch. The place is a rustic charm with a modern touch.

Cabin 1 (The Homestead) and Cabin 2 (The Horse Barn)

The Homestead (Cabin 1) and The Horse Barn (Cabin 2) were indeed just that. They were built circa 1940. The cabins were completely modernized and refurbished in 2005 yet maintain their original authentic rustic charm. They now are beautiful two-story, three-bedroom, and one-full-bath cabins. They both sleep from eight to ten guests and have covered wrap around porches with a view of Otter Creek, charcoal grill (please don't forget your charcoal) and fire pit area, dining area, living room, as well as full-service kitchen equipped with dinnerware, appliances, and cooking utensils. Linens and towels are supplied for each guest every third day. These comfy cabins are heated using a furnace and wood-fired stove (wood for the stove is included). A wheel barrel full of wood for the fire pit is available for 15 USD. Smoking is allowed on the porch only and is not permitted in the cabins.

Cabin 4 (The Falls)

The Falls (Cabin 4) was renovated in the Spring of 2016. It is now a charming two-story, two-bedroom, and one-full-bath cabin (new propane toilet) that sleeps four guests. It has a relaxing front porch, new charcoal grill (please don't forget your charcoal), and fire pit area - both with views of Otter Creek. It also includes a new dining area, living room, and a full-service kitchen equipped with dinnerware, appliances, and cooking utensils. Linens and towels are supplied for each guest every third day. This cozy cabin is heated using a furnace and wood-fired stove (wood for the stove is included). A wheel barrel full of wood for the fire pit is available for 15 USD. Smoking is allowed on the porch only and is not permitted in the cabins.

Horses stay free

There are four stalls (11 feet x 11 feet) available with one evening turn out in the arena. Stalls are first come first serve. Please send an inquiry to check stall availability. Water is accessible. Hay is available and priced at Trailside Ranch cost to you. Please be tidy and responsible, pick up your trash, and always leave the area cleaner than when you arrived. All horses stabled at Trailside Ranch must provide a copy of a current Negative Coggins report from a licensed veterinarian.

Stall / stable etiquette

  • You are responsible for the safety and welfare of all your riders and horses.
  • Please report problems immediately
  • Please do not assume that someone else has noticed and already reported a broken door, the fence that needs repair, or a horse that appears to be sick or injured
  • If you see something wrong or that concerns you, please contact Heather or Jeff.
  • Please do not feed other horses unless you specifically have permission from the horse owner
  • Please do not feed treats to horses without the owner's permission
  • Absolutely, no smoking in the stables
  • Horses will be ridden and or handled by owners and their immediate family members only.
  • Guests are responsible for their own horse's maintenance. This includes mucking of stalls, sweeping or raking up, picking up equipment, turning off aisle lights, and returning gates and doors to their original positions.
  • A visual check of fence and gate is required by everyone before any horse is to be turned out. Turnout is at owner's risk.
  • Trailside Ranch reserves the right to ask guests to remove their animal(s) from the property.
  • Trailside Ranch is not responsible for any theft, damage, loss of use, vandalism, natural disaster, or other loss that might occur to your tack, trailer, or horse.

Pasture etiquette

  • Because Trailside Ranch does have permanent resident horses that are on a schedule, please speak with the ranch hosts to make arrangements for turnout time.
  • Should you have an unruly horse that is unkind to other horses, please expect to keep the horse stalled for the protection and safety of the other horses.
