Nutrition is such an important part of a healthy lifestyle. It’s extremely difficult to maintain the proper balance with the stressful days most of us have. Not only must you eat “healthy” food, but portion control has to be maintained.

Rancho Cortez brings these concepts of nutritious food in proper portion size to their guests with meals prepared under the guidance of a registered dietician, with input from their naturopath, cooking demos, and classes designed to allow you to take this information home with you.

Everything at Rancho Cortez is done with the goal of improving your health when you leave. They have fresh vegetables from their own garden and fresh fruits and vegetables from a local food co-op. The emphasis is on REAL food, prepared with healthy ingredients, and presented in proper portion sizes.

  • Go about 32 miles on Highway 16 north into the town of Bandera.
  • Turn left at the light onto 173 south.

Please note that due to the location of the ranch, many times Yahoo Maps, Google Maps, and Mapquest do not accurately locate the ranch. For best results, please feel free to print these directions. If you have a GPS system in your car, the physical address may not show up accurately on your display - “872 Hay Hollar Road” and your system will pick the “nearest” alternative, which may send you somewhere in the middle of the Hill Country State Natural Area Park. However, you can enter “Bandera, Texas” in your GPS system and you will be guided into Bandera.

Once in Bandera, refer to the directions above or do it the old-fashioned way and stick to a trusty, Texas road map! Also, you may have limited cell phone usage once you turn onto Ranch Road 1077. If you need to call Rancho Cortez, please do so before you get too far down the road on 1077.
