On the first night, guests will stay in charming cabins overlooking Half Moon Lake just a couple miles outside of Pinedale, Wyoming, USA. Upon arriving, guests will be welcomed with a complimentary drink and dinner at Half Moon Lake Lodge and will receive a short briefing of the trip, as well as introductions of the horses and wranglers.

The next morning, the guests will be on horseback for three to six hours daily before setting up tents at a predetermined secluded campsite. Food, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, fishing poles, and tents will be provided for all guests and guests may bring a maximum additional 50 pounds of clothing and gear.

Private Cabin (Up to 4 people)

You will have beautiful views of the lake from your private cabin. It includes one queen bed and a hide-a-bed. This cabin comes complete with a kitchenette and a bathroom, including a toilet/shower in-room, plus chairs and tables outside on the deck.

Program

Half Moon Lake Lodge will pack all the essential camping and cooking equipment to make camping easier than ever. During the trip, you will enjoy breath-taking views and an authentic American west experience! The first evening will be spent at Half Moon Lake Resort; upon arriving, guests will receive a complimentary drink and meal at Half Moon Lake Lodge which has a full-service menu restaurant and bar.

After your meal, they will be introduced to the horses and guides then spend the night in individual cabins with a view overlooking the lake. All remaining meals will be served family-style. In the morning, guests will receive breakfast at the lodge and join together at the horse corrals to get tacked and loaded.

Once ready, all guests and guides will ride into the Bridger-Teton wilderness on horseback for roughly four hours until they arrive at an area suitable for camping. The camp will be set and guests will have the ability to relax, read, take photos, etc. Guests are encouraged to use the free time after riding and in-between meals to do whatever they would like.

Lunch and snacks will be provided either during the ride or upon arrival depending on timing and dinner will be served in the evening. The next three days will be similar as the camp will be packed and moved with another four to six hours of riding each day and meals will be served accordingly.

Welcome to the gorgeous Half Moon Lake Lodge, located in the Bridger-Teton National Forest! Nestled at the foot of the majestic Wind River Mountains, Half Moon Lake Lodge lies among the aspens and pine trees on the shore of Half Moon Lake. Wyoming’s wild and beautiful countryside is framed by 13,000-foot high towering peaks. The lodge is just nine miles from Pinedale, Wyoming, a town rich in history and the spirit of the West.

Half Moon Lake is located in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, it lies nestled among the aspens and pines in the Wind River Mountains Forest, just outside of Pinedale, Wyoming. Surrounded by willows, the lake’s wild and beautiful countryside is framed by towering peaks over 13,000 feet high. Half Moon Lake is a piedmont lake formed by glacial scouring and a terminal moraine dam and evidence of its glacial past is all around.

Half Moon Lake Lodge has a marina that includes 14 slips, some of which can be rented by the day, month or season, and conveniently located fuel pumps.

Food

The meals provided on the first night will be the guest's choice from the full restaurant menu, all other meals will be pre-planned to be packed on the trip. Any dietary needs or restrictions need to be discussed before arriving in order for appropriate preparation. Standard meals will consist of one main protein, vegetables, and a side; an example includes eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast, meat and cheese sandwiches for lunch, and steak with zucchini and mashed potatoes for dinner.
