The property is absolutely beautiful, the food is excellent and the horses are well-looked after.

My room was quaint and lovely, very homey. The staff fired up the boiler to heat water at the end of every day. The dining table on the deck had magnificent views. We toured the property and saw the organic garden and the milk cows.

My husband and I traveled with two friends to Estancia Ranquilco this March. It is extremely remote, and we took many modes of transportation to get there. Every minute of the travel was worth it! We did an 8 day stay, that included a 3-night pack-trip (highly recommend!). If you are wanting to truly experience Patagonia, live among gauchos, eat authentic (and delicious) food, take some incredible ride- this is the perfect place (and really the only place truly authentic). T.A. and the entire staff makes you feel like you are part of the family from the moment you arrive. I will never forget how dirty and tired we were after the 3 hour ride into the ranch...we walked through the Main House to the shaded back porch, were handed glasses of red wine, and looked out to see the rushing river below us and the sun setting behind the mountains. We dined outside that night and shared stories. It is a magical place!! You are able to truly escape! We had so many great nights around the camp-fire...laughing harder than we had in a long time, singing, dancing, telling stories...moments I will never forget! As a travel agent I will say- this isn't the Four Seasons...don't expect room service, pools, or wi-fi (although there is a tiny bit of a signal at the ranch- you don't need it!). The accommodations are beautiful and rustic- you get hot water by burning wood in the fireplace in your room (I loved this part!). It is all part of the beauty and magic of ranquilco! If you have the chance- GO! Pack LOTS of suncreen and don't forget a water bottle or canteen (this comes from experience). I am grateful for the experience of a lifetime and all the memories made at Estancia Ranquilco!
