I booked the hotel based on online reviews of the fishing (which is world-class), so when I arrived I was blown away by the amenities! The Estancia is on a 20,000 acre ranch owned by a well-respected Argentinian family since 1934. It is a gorgeous setting, amazing food, and so many activities - fishing, hiking and horse back riding (conveniently all-inclusive price). Daily agenda is 8:30am breakfast, fishing 10am-2pm followed by cocktail hour and a three-course lunch, siesta as long :) or short as you like, then I would fish or horseback ride from 6-9pm. The sun sets at 9:30pm, followed by another spectacular dinner (lighter than the lunch which is meal of the day). I've stayed at my share of Ritz Carlton's and Relais et Chateaux but this was by far one of the most excellent, understated, luxury vacations. PS - you can opt to stay at a luxury bungalow that accommodates up to four people. It's located on a pristine lake with a living room view that makes you feel like you're in a boat! The only downside is it's about a mile from the main lodge/amenities. I chose to stay at the main lodge, arranged for a staffer drive me to the bungalow and I'd walk back to the lodge before dinner.

This is a great escape to the wilderness with 5 star accommodations. The sunrises go on forever and the mountains and sun reflect in the winding stream while your fishing first thing in the morning. It is simply incredible. The horse back riding allows for awesome photographic experiences. If you love to cook, treat yourself to a great cooking lesson with Amelia Cornelio, that is a real experience!
