Just two hours from Buenos Aires, Dos Talas Estancia is a magical place. It is everything that an estancia should be: A haven. A sanctuary. The perfect place to stay. A place to relax. A place to hear the wind through the trees and the chorus of wildlife. A place to witness thousands of birds swooping in from the fields at dusk to find a home for the night. A place to admire the beautiful sunsets of the Pampas across an endless landscape.

Built in 1893, the house of French and Italian influences, ages with dignity. Each environment has a special charm, with views of the different corners of the park through its wide openings. In the library, you can breathe the same atmosphere of the cultural gatherings of the early twentieth century, his books, manuscripts, and photos are witnesses of that glorious era.

More than 3000 copies cover their walls in the Spanish, French, Italian and English languages. During the meals, the table is dressed in the original crockery that the family knew how to keep. Everything is ready to enjoy unforgettable moments.

Day 1

You will enter Dos Talas at 11:00, and you will be received and taken to your room while showing the house. At 13:30, meat empanadas are served, then you will sit by the table to enjoy a barbecue consisting of different cuts of meat, including sausage, blood sausages, etc. Once the lunch is finished, dessert will be served with coffee or tea. At all lunches and meals, red wine, white wine, and soft drinks are included.

The cavalcade is organized for 17:30, which lasts for two hours. If someone does not want to ride, they can go to the pool, play the palette on the concrete pediment, or simply enjoy the immense park designed by the landscaper Carlos Thais.

Day 2 and 3

In the following days the same thing is repeated but not in the cavalcade because a different route is made (all the horse rides are made at the pace and not at a gallop). If you like birds, it is suggested that you bring your own binoculars.

Included excursions

Walk around the venue

The parkland designed by the French landscape architect Charles Thays is the perfect place to take long walks. At the end of each avenue of trees, you will discover impressive trees, old buildings reminders of the history of the Estancia, or the beautiful chapel, a scaled-down replica of the Notre Dame de Passy church in Paris. For those who simply want to enjoy the landscape and breath the fresh air of the countryside, these walks are also unique.

Birdwatching in the lagoon

Watching birds at Dos Talas isn’t just a treat for the experts since you’ll come across different birds wherever you go in the parkland. In fact, of all the 1000 species to be found all over Argentina, 300 of them have been spotted in our grounds. So Dos Talas is really as much a refuge for bird life in its unspoiled surroundings, as it is for humans!

The lagoon is almost 60 hectares in size and it’s the ideal refuge for black-necked swans, herons, flamingos, a wide variety of ducks, and other members of the fauna of the pampas.

In an event which can only be loosely described as a barbecue, you’ll sample meat from animals bred on the estancia, fed only on the extensive pastures of Argentina’s rich soil where they roam freely. The asado is an art, whose secrets are the finest home-grown meat cooked very slowly over a fire of wood from the estate.

For lunch, they will put tables covered in antique tablecloths right next to the asado grill, so that you can join in this criollo or native Argentine ritual. Before getting down to the serious steaks, or lamb, you’ll start with the delicious sausages or homemade empanadas - the fine pastry and meat parcels which are a staple of Argentine food. You’ll sample superb wines from Argentina’s Mendoza province, and of course, vegetarians can also be catered for.
